Lee Dixon - Manager - is responsible for this Centre  and    assisting  all the  Youth Clubs  in the south-east corner of Anglesey. He is responsible for co-ordinating trips to various  places of interest  and recreation -  for   the young people of the surrounding villages. This week-end he is  taking  a group of  youngsters  on  an exchange visit to  a  Youth Club in Cardiff.

Dilys  - Assistant  
   
Dilys,  our newly appointed  assistant -  will be  available to answer any queries you may have  regarding activities at the Centre.

Lee has  completed his first year  and I am certain all users will   confirm  that he  has made great efforts  to  maintain and improve the standards and the facilities on offer at the Centre.  The  computer room   is  offering   many different courses  on I.T,   from  Beginners, Excel,  Photo-Imaging  and Web Page construction   and many other interests  and   we thank  Coleg Harlech/WEA and Coleg Menai for their  assistance in the  presentation of these courses.  The Spanish and Welsh courses are well supported.

Youth Club 

activities - 

Tuesday and Thursday  evenings  : 7.00p.m. - 9 p.m.

Ages 11-17 - the young of the surrounding areas are very welcomed.  Pool-table tennis - video games - games - TV - etc etc.

"JOB CENTRE"   

AVAILABLE  FOR  THE UNEMPLOYED  AND JOB SEEKERS  FROM 10 A.M. TO 9 P.M. MONDAY TO THURSDAY AND  10A.M. TO 5 P.M. ON FRIDAYS.. STAFF  FOR PERSONAL INTERVIEWS WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE FROM 10 A.M. TO 1 P.M.  ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS.
   

Citizen's Advice Bureau 

Volunteers from the C A B service will be available on Thursday's from  10.0 a.m. until 12 noon to  deal with any problems you may have. An appointment is not required but if anyone should prefer to make prior arrangements, please ring 811508 and every effort will be made to  provide the service at the time you require.

THE OVER FIFTIES CLUB

Every Wednesday 1.30 - 4 p.m.  

We are aiming to form  a new-type interest for  the over-fifties and will be organising   talks and  slide-shows on various subjects. Additionally, we plan to  arrange trips to many places of interest and we have in mind a  trip to visit the   wonderful slate Museum at Llanberis. We are intitially proposing to have  a talk on the subject of the slate mining industry of North Wales and later take  you to visit  Llanberis. We will be pleased to hear of any ideas you may have on what you would like us to arrange. Please ring either Lee or Dilys to discuss anything  that you may think will be of benefit to  others in this age group. They will be pleased to hear from you - or if you prefer,  please call in at the Centre.

A group have visited the Seiont Gardens(story below) Talks  have been  held on the RSPB,  the Air Ambulance Service -  Penrhyn Castle - local history etc.

Lee  has re-convened  the The Youth Club  and   continues  to hold  meetings on Tuesday and Thursday  evening 7-9p.m.  and   other times have been  allocated  to them during the day when they can use the centre facilities. Plans are now being drawn up for a wide range of activities and interests  and  details will be issued on a regular basis.

During periods of school holidays it is proposed to allow the use of the Hall on a regular basis.

Young People aged 13-19  from all the  villages of  east Anglesey are invited to join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is no need to telephone - just turn up and you will be warmly welcomed. We  will be organising  trips to various attractions  in other parts of Wales  and   welcome suggestions from all the young people  with regard to their preferences.

ACTIVITIES

Today, Dilys accompanied a group of our elderly members  on an organised  trip to the Seiont Garden Centre  Near Caernarfon,   They also  visited the  Care Centre in Caernarfon and finally the new Garden Centre  at Treborth   and  which they were all very enthusiastic  about and enjoyed a refreshment  break.  Despite   appalling weather conditions  they  all  thoroughly enjoyed  the day out  and  are planning  to  form a committee  to extend  their activities.  All elderly persons are welcomed  from the age of 50 upwards and for further information please ring the Centre at 811508 to discuss   what  is on offer with Lee or Dilys
