March 2nd 2000

At a meeting of the Management Committee on 29th February 2000, the Chairman, Iorwerth Rowlands, presented his proposals for the refurbishment of the Centre and they were unanimously adopted.

Our organisation is to be affiliated to the Boys' and Girls' Club of Wales with immediate effect. The combined organisation will plan for extending the period of activities at the Centre for up to six/seven days of the week. Mainly, the Centre will cater for the 11-29 age group but the Information Technology Centre will be available for all ages.

There is to be a Cyber Cafe available throughout the week for a small fee as a contribution towards club funds.

The creche facility, supported by the WEA, can be linked to give the opportunity for the mothers to pursue word processing and internet instruction.

Many of the above activities are to be provided with the assistance of theThe Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Wales.

Plans will shortly be produced for the project and will be available for the public examination at the Centre.

It was agreed that Mothers be invited to form a group to assist in the development of the youth activities and to voluntarily assist in some of the activities in support of the Youth Activities Leaders to be provided.

February 20th 2000

I can confirm that a lease has been agreed with the Diocesan Trust and an estimate of the cost of the project has been received from Symonds Colwyn Bay.. A search is in progress for "match funding" agreements, prior to the submission of an application for Lottery support. Iorwerth Rowlands(Chairman)

Our Youth Centre activities have never had a permanent base and it is time we correct this.

Representatives of the Diocesan Trust have inspected the premises and showed keen interest in the proposals put forward. Final legal agreements are being drawn up and a committee meeting will be called as soon as a lease is ready for signature.

Support is needed and anyone willing to join our committee and be part of this exciting proposal should contact our Secretary, Angie Hennessey on 810828.
